I want to dedicate this message to the many volunteers who make our Society possible. Without their dedication, we would not have the Society of Reproductive Surgeons. I want to thank all of you who serve; all who have served; and those who will serve in the future. I also want to take this opportunity to specifically thank our Board of Directors. Drs. Luciano, Frishman, Sigman, Janik, Falcone, and Schlegel - your hard work is greatly appreciated. I am very fortunate to have such a dedicated Board during my tenure as President this year. I also would like to recognize our Committee Chairs, as well as our newly created liaisons to the ASRM for telesurgery and hands-on PG courses, Steven Palter and Ceana Nezhat. The support that the ASRM administration has given to the SRS this year has been tremendous. Special thanks go to Brooke Denham-Gomez who has helped the SRS organize our ACM activities and board meetings throughout the year.
I would like to congratulate our newly elected officer of the Society. Jeff Goldberg, M.D., is the new Director-at-Large for the 2009-2010 year. Jeff has been a mainstay in reproductive medicine through his strong support of the field and determined encouragement of its growth. He will provide distinguished and wise leadership to the Society.
Our Board is full of new ideas and ways to improve the value of your membership. Keep up-to-date on the progress and take advantage of the offerings. Make it a point to visit our Society's website: www.reprodsurgery.org. Over the next few months, you will see our website morphing into a brighter, more useful design, guided by the ASRM. Visit it on a regular basis to keep informed.
As current President of the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, I am pleased to provide a newsletter highlighting the events taking place at the ASRM's 65th Annual Meeting to be held on October 17-21, 2009 in Atlanta, GA. The Society of Reproductive Surgeons is poised to move forward in several areas of its strategic plan, and is a group of which being part of the leadership is, indeed, a real gift. Once again, thank you to the members who donate their time and energy. They are to be applauded. The next time you interact with a board or committee member, be sure to thank him/her for his/her dedication to making your organization possible.
