President, The Society of Reproductive Surgeons
The Society of Reproductive Surgeons (SRS) is an affiliate society of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). SRS supports postgraduate courses, helps develop Practice Guidelines, and Patient Information Fact Sheets. The Society’s primary scientific activities are focused at the ASRM Annual meeting, held on October 13-17, 2007 in Washington, DC.
The SRS sponsors a plenary session presentation by a distinguished scientist on a topic of relevance to reproductive surgery (SRS Ethicon Lecture) and recognizes the lifetime achievement of an individual with the Distinguished Surgeon Award. Other activities at the Annual Meeting include postgraduate courses on laparoscopic suturing, robotic surgery and didactic courses of relevance to reproductive surgery. Live surgical cases (telesurgery) and debates on reproductive surgery are provided as well.
Members of SRS are kept up-to-date on the educational activities of the Society, receive the SRS Newsletter (providing an overview of recent presentations of importance to reproductive surgeons) and are recognized by membership of their status as reproductive surgeons.
The SRS Newsletter is one way to keep you up to date with the latest developments of your society. However, we would like to hear from you as well. Please send us your announcements regarding events in your state or country, promotions or any other topics you would like to share with us to Magdy Milad, editor of SRS Newsletter (milad@northwestern.edu). Pictures or photographs from the annual meeting or other relevant scientific venues are also welcome.
The Society is actively involved with many topics in reproductive surgery, and there are a variety of opportunities to be involved in SRS activities. Please send me an e-mail (pnschleg@med.cornell.edu), or to Jil Clowers at the ASRM office (jclowers@asrm.org) or to any of our board members (Togas Tulandi, Tommaso Falcone, Keith Isaacson, Anthony Luciano, or Ana Murphy) indicating your interest in participation or any suggestions you may have.
